Philanthropy
Philanthropy to others is an integral part of being a Delta Zeta. Our national philanthropies are speech and hearing and The Painted Turtle Camp. We put on events throughout the year to raise money for our philanthropies and our chapter. Some of these events are Relay for Life, Hit for Hearing, and Pancake Dinner.

Speech and Hearing / Starkey Hearing Foundation
Through our Speech and Hearing philanthropic efforts we aid local and national speech and hearing organizations, such as Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, California.

-
Gallaudet University is the world’s only university in which all programs and services are specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students. In 1995, the Delta Zeta Dance Studio was dedicated on the Gallaudet campus. Delta Zeta also gives funds for research and clinical services in the children’s Auditory and Research Center at the House Ear Institute found in Lost Angeles, California.

The House Ear Institute is in Los Angeles, California where scientists and researchers spend their efforts in improving and advancing the science of hearing. Since Delta Zeta's partnership with the House Ear Institute in 1985, Delta Zeta alumnae and collegians have raised over half a million dollars for the Institute's mission.

The Starkey Hearing Foundation delivers more than 20,000 hearing aids annually through more than 150 hearing missions a year in countries stretching from the U.S. to Vietnam. Delta Zeta National Sorority has partnered with the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s Hear Now Program to bring others the gift of hearing.

The Painted Turtle Delta Zeta supports The Painted Turtle Camp as a national service project. This camp supports children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Delta Zeta is committed to supporting the camp financially through donations, as well as with their time through volunteering in the camps themselves. Delta Zeta is the first sorority to partner with The Painted Turtle as a part of their national philanthropic efforts. The Painted Turtle seeks to reach beyond illness, to inspire children with life-threatening diseases to become their greater selves.
